Constructional Affection Workshop Japan Tour
In July 2024, Sean and Maasa did their first workshop tour as CAAWT in Japan! They toured six cities, starting from Fukuoka, Kochi, Saitama, Tokyo, Osaka, and Hokkaido - covering from south to north of Japan. They did the Constructional Affection workshop in five cities, while they did the Constructional Aggression Treatment (CAT) workshop in Saitama! The total workshop attendees, in-person and online, is more than 850 people. They got to meet and connect with many people.
This workshop tour was one of their dreams for a long time. They are thankful for all the Japanese CAAWT members from each city who collaborate with Sean and Maasa to make all the workshops happen! Please visit this page to learn more about their trip.
Constructional Affection Workshop in Calgary Humane Society
On April 27th and 28th, Sean and Maasa did a two-day Constructional Affection workshop at the Calgary Humane Society. They presented the constructional approach (Goldiamond, 1974/2002; Layng et al, 2022) and constructional affection, a training technique that helps teach shelter dogs desirable behaviors to get adopted and stay adopted. We did a live demonstration and coaching with the shelter dogs to facilitate learning of this training technique. We are thankful for making this workshop possible with the collaborative work by the English CAAWT members and the Calgary Humane Society!
